About O'Hares
O’Hare’s Pub was established in 1987 by Jack and Jane O’Hare. Jack grew up in Warrenpoint Co. Down, Northern Ireland. He worked in Ireland in several hotels and restaurants, before spending 2 years in Switzerland furthering his education. He moved to Canada in 1967 and worked his way through the ranks with CP Hotels. It was always a dream of his to own his own pub and bring a bit of Ireland to the people of Richmond. Jack and Jane worked hard to create the atmosphere of a traditional Irish Pub offering great food and good times to all ages. O’Hare’s is a place that you can meet all your friends for some good old Irish craic, have dinner out with your partner or bring your Grandma for lunch. A true accomplishment of creating an institution that appeals to all ages. A testiment to the business is having 9 staff with over 15 years service!
The business expanded in 2003 with the addition of the Liquor Store. With a commitment to sourcing the finest local and international products (including over 200 items you won't find in BC Liquor Store's) our Store has become one of the finest in BC.
Jack has recently taken some time out to travel and enjoy his 7 grandchildren. His daughter Erinn and son in law Grant now run the family business and are both committed to carrying on the traditions and reputation that O’Hare’s was built on.
